Alabama will propose legislation to consolidate boards
After a 2023 bill was approved by a committee but not issues for a Senate vote, legislation will be again introduced to consolidate some licensing boards in Alabama. The bill will be focused on occupational licensure boards. The bill's sponsor indicates that the goal of the bill is cost-savings for the licensure applicants. The committee also approved private management contracts for several boards, with management fees based on how many licensees are overseen by the board.
