Participants who complete the NCIT Basic curriculum, complete and pass the course exam, and meet the one-year employment requirement as a regulatory investigator or inspector may apply for CLEAR certification.

CLEAR is committed to providing high-quality training and services to regulators. We are pleased to announce that the NCIT Basic program is available online and in-person.

The in-person programming is delivered over three days as a hands-on training, and certification program. Attendees will work together through the modules with an instructor. At the end of the third day, an exam is administered onsite by CLEAR Staff.

The online programming offers a hybrid approach to learning, utilizing synchronous and asynchronous training. The course consists of six modules that attendees can work through at their own pace and four live instructor-led sessions. The course culminates in a proctored online exam conducted in the CLEAR Learning portal.

Attendees will have access to the same highly-rated training program regardless of the delivery method they choose.

Participant Guides

CLEAR uses eBooks for all of our NCIT programs, reflecting our commitment to green initiatives and sustainability. By opting for digital formats, we significantly reduce our environmental footprint, saving trees and minimizing the resources required for printing, shipping, and pulping. This choice not only aligns with our dedication to eco-friendly practices but also enhances accessibility and convenience for our participants.

The NCIT Basic Final Exam is taken at the end of the training program, whether you attend online or in person.

Online Programs

Exams for online participants are accessible through the CLEAR Learning portal. The exam will be made available at the conclusion of the final live virtual session. Attendees will have two weeks from the end of the program to complete the exam. Please note that the exam is proctored virtually in real time to ensure integrity and security.

In-Person Exams

For those attending an NCIT Basic program in person, a CLEAR Staff member will proctor your exam on-site at the end of the three-day program. This test is conducted through the CLEAR Learning portal. Attendees are required to provide their own computer or tablet for testing purposes.

Technical Considerations

Whether attending the NCIT Basic program online or in-person, a computer or tablet with a working, front-facing camera is required in order to take the exam.
