As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, driven by technological advancements, globalization, and shifting societal expectations, regulators are increasingly tasked with balancing compliance and public protection while fostering innovation and inclusion. While relational regulation promotes a more dynamic and effective regulatory system that supports licensees and ensures public protection through a collaborative system of mutual respect, shared goals, and ongoing dialogue, it also raises questions about the potential risks of diluting regulatory authority.
CLEAR’s 2025 Winter Symposium, Relational Regulation Re-imagined, brings together professional regulators and key stakeholders to explore the concept of relational regulation and its potential to transform the way regulation is approached. Beginning with a discussion on the various interpretations of relational regulation, the agenda will explore how this philosophy shifts the regulatory focus from enforcement to collaboration, mutual respect, and shared responsibility between regulators and professionals, leading to better compliance outcomes and enhanced public trust. CLEAR’s 2025 Midyear Business Meeting will be held in conjunction with CLEAR’s Winter Symposium. The Midyear Business Meeting will be held January 16-17, 2025. The program will start at the end of the Winter Symposium with a committee reception on January 15, 2024. CLEAR's committee members should plan on attending the meeting, while other CLEAR members are welcome to participate.
