Israel approves streamlined licensure process for new immigrants

Mobility, Workforce/Access Shortage,

The Israeli government has approved a reform to streamline the professional licensing process for new immigrants, allowing them to begin the procedure prior to their arrival in the country. This initiative, led by Minister of Aliyah and Integration Ofir Sofer, aims to reduce the current waiting period of 6 to 12 months, facilitating the integration of professionals in fields such as medicine, engineering, social work, education, and finance. The reform enables immigrants to submit their professional credentials from abroad and receive preliminary approval before obtaining Israeli citizenship. Additionally, it shortens the required internship periods for professions including engineering, veterinary medicine, and insurance agents.
