Supreme Court rejects challenge to Washington conversion therpay ban
The Supreme Court of the United States declined to take up a case challenging Washington's ban on conversion therapy, thus upholding the law that bans counselors and other practitioners from practicing such therapy for minors. Conversion therapy refers to "encouraging gay or lesbian minors to change their sexual orientations and transgender children to identify as the gender identities assigned to them at birth." The challenge claimed that the law is a violation of First Amendment free speech rights.
