Update: settlement in Vermont case against pharmacy chain
In June 2022, the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation brought a case against Walgreens pharmacies over unsafe working conditions for staff and the resulting medication and vaccination errors, unexpected store closures, and staffing violations. Vermont OPR and Walgreens have settled on a fine of $275,000. The agreement also requires Walgreens to increase pay for staff and update their phone systems so patients can be rerouted to another location if a store is unexpectedly closed. Walgreens has faced similar allegations and settlements in Connecticut and Maine.
