NMC releases 3-year plan for culture transformation
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has published a comprehensive three-year plan aimed at transforming its internal culture to become more positive, empowering, and inclusive. This initiative follows an independent review that highlighted issues such as racism, discrimination, and bullying within the organization. The transformation plan includes measures to enhance equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI); improve leadership and decision-making processes; and ensure psychological safety and well-being for all staff members. The NMC has also announced the recruitment of an Executive Director of People and Culture, along with two new Heads of EDI, to lead and support these cultural changes.
