Complaints raising awareness of discrimination in real estate appraisals

Complaints submitted to the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Rel Estate Appraisers are bringing awareness to cases of racial discrimination in real estate appraisals. Four complaints in the past five years have resulted in disciplinary action ranging from fines to license revocation. Federal appraiser regulatory bodies are recommending anti-bias training requirements and standards of practice.
