Colorado sunrise review for funeral homes and crematories
The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies has released a sunrise report on funeral homes and crematories, recommending licensing for funeral service professionals. "The proposed regulation would require professionals to graduate from a mortuary school, pass a national board exam, serve a one-year apprenticeship and pass a background check." The report was shared with the Colorado General Assembly, and lawmakers are working on proposing legislation to establish licensure for funeral home professionals such as funeral home directors, embalmers, and cremationists.
