Philippines to regulate physical therapy as separate discipline

The House of Representatives in the Philippines has voted to amend the Act regulating physical and occupational therapy to recognize physical therapy as a separate and distinct discipline. A Professional Regulatory Board of Physical Therapy will be established under the Professional Regulation Commission to promulgate and enforce rules and regulations for PT licensure. The Board will also administer a licensing exam.
