New Hampshire to implement new categories for mental health licenses
Two years after a new law and after pressure from New Hampshire's governor, the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice has now approved draft language to create two new categories of licenses for social work (licensed social worker and licensed social work associate) and conditional licensing options for clinicians working toward full licensure. The conditional license will allow mental health workers to practice under the supervision of a licensed professional while they complete the required hours to earn their credential. The rules will still need to go through public comment and legislative approval before being finalized.
