National Association of Boards of Pharmacy approves resolutions
During their annual meeting this month, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy adopted resolutions:
- NABP will survey states about pharmacist participation in point-of-care testing and treatment, with the possibility of a task force to study the issue.
- NABP will continue educating boards of pharmacy about the Drug Supply Chain Security Act and utilization of the interoperability network.
- NABP will promote model language for pharmacists' prescribing authority for buprenorphine, opioid use disorder medication.
- NABP will encourage and assist boards with adding a pharmacist technician to their board.
- An NABP task force will examine current state requirements for the expanded role of pharmacy technicians during the pandemic state of emergency and amend the Model State Pharmacy Act as needed to align.
