California considers athletic trainer licensing

A bill introduced in California would establish the California Board of Athletic Training. In order to practice as an athletic trainer or use certain related titles, individuals would need to be licensed by the board under the Department of Consumer Affairs. The California Athletic Trainers Association reports that only 56% of high schools in California have access to an athletic trainer, not all of whom are certified.
