US Department of Health and Human Services investigates illegal nurse license scheme

The US Department of Helth and Human Services's Operation Nightingale has investigated a scheme involving three (now closed) Florida schools offering fraudulent nursign degrees. So far, 25 individuals in Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Florda have been indicted for their involvement as recruiters for the scheme. Over 2,600 individuals were able to use the fake diplomas to take the national nursing board exam. State nursing boards have begun taking action against nurses who obtained licenses via the illegal degrees, many of who were already Licensed Practical Nurses and obtained their Registered Nurse degree illegally.
