Update: US Supreme Court refuses case on FL dietitian law
The United States Supreme Court has refused to hear a case challenging Florida's dietitian licensing law. The Del Castillo case argued that the Florida Department of Health violated Del Castillo's free speech rights when they ordered her to stop providing dietary advice without a dietitian's license. Del Castillo lost the case in federal district court and the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals before taking the case to the Supreme Court. In those cases, the court ruled that a state "may permissibly regulate speech as an incident to a regulation of conduct, including professional conduct."
