UK: General Medical Council becomes regulator for PAs and AAs
As of December 13, the General Medical Council has officially become the regulator for physician associates and anaesthesia associates. The Royal College of Physicians will publish guidance documents on scope of practice, supervision requirements, and titles and introductions. The guidance will only be finalized pending the conclusion of the independent review of physician associates and anaesthesia associates professions. The Faculty of Physician Associates, which currently registers PAs, will close December 31, 2024.
