Nigeria considers changes to health facility regulation
The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) opposes the proposed National Health Facility Regulatory Agency (NHFRA), arguing it overlaps with existing regulatory bodies, particularly the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, which already manages pharmacy standards under Nigerian law. PSN’s president, Prof. Cyril Usifoh, claims NHFRA would undermine the pharmacy profession’s autonomy and disrupt current frameworks. PSN has submitted a formal objection, citing established legal precedents and existing effective regulatory practices.
