CO: new law on considering criminal convictions

A new law goes into effect August7 in Colorado, barring state licensing boards from considering criminal convictions more than three years after the conviction or completion of sentence. Also, criminal records must directly relate to the profession being applied for in order to be considered at all. Applicants can also request a review prior to licensure application to determine if any conviction could affect licensure eligibility.
