Changes to the Complaint Process in Response to Cultural Safety and Humility Initiatives

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia will provide an update on its efforts to promote cultural safety and humility as a foundational component of its registrants' practice of medicine. While there is significant work still to do, this webinar will allow participants to
- Appreciate the context of the new standard on cultural safety and humility in a historical and contemporary context,
- Understand the current process by which the College is auditing all of its complaints processes to ensure cultural safety and humility,
- Hear about the College’s processes of engagement with partners such as the First Nations Health Authority, and
- Learn about internal steps the College has taken on its journey towards cultural safety and humility, including specific actions focused on staff and governors.
