Texas: veterinary board modernizes licensing portal

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME) has introduced a new licensing portal to streamline the licensing process for veterinary professionals. This update addresses prior system limitations noted by the Sunset Advisory Commission and aims to improve transparency and ease of use for license applications, renewals, and public access to disciplinary records. The Texas Legislature provided $1.1 million for the project. The TBVME operates under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s oversight until 2027, before returning to independent agency status.
