New Zealand ends consideration of property manager regulation

After the proposal of a licensing scheme and a new regulatory system in 2022, the Housing Minister in New Zealand has ended consideration of the Residential Property Managers Bill. The reason stated is the desire to not add more regulation during a housing crisis, particularly with a marginal cost-benefit analysis of the bill. The bill would have established minimum entry and qualification requirements for property managers.
