Model legislation for military spouse licensure
The Commerce, Insurance, and Economic Development Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council has unanimously approved model legislation for military spouse license mobility. Based on Georgia HB 880, the model allows military spouses who hold a current valid license in good standing in another state to file an application for expedited licensure upon receiving of military orders to relocate. Upon being hired by an in-state employer, the licensee may begin practice immediately without being licensed by the state and may continue to work if a license is not issued within 10 days of application for expedited license.
