Alabama board: legislative hearing on settlement agreements

The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners appeared before the Joint Sunset Committee and faced questions over their authority to enter into settlement and non-disclosure agreements with former employees. State law allows only the state attorney general to settle litigation matters. The Board claims that they has verbal approval from staff in the AG Office (who has since retired), but the AG Office claims they have no record of the requests or approvals.
