Kenya's Health Cabinet Secretary emphasized the country's commitment to harmonizing healthcare professional regulations across East Africa. This initiative aims to standardize education and training for roles such as clinical officers, pharmaceutical technologists, nurses, midwives, and public health officers, facilitating workforce mobility and ensuring consistent competencies across the region. The harmonization is expected to enhance healthcare service quality, promote patient safety, and support the achievement of Universal Health Coverage by aligning professional standards and ethics. Additionally, standardized internship training and public health curricula are anticipated to strengthen healthcare systems and improve health outcomes throughout East Africa.
