CLEAR Celebrates 40 Years of its NCIT Programming!
This year marks the 40th anniversary of CLEAR's National Certified Investigator and Inspector Training (NCIT) programs and our staff is celebrating by taking a look back at the history of these programs and towards another exciting year for CLEAR Learning.
CLEAR's NCIT programs are designed to enhance the skills of regulatory investigators and inspectors across a number of professional fields. Since the start of NCIT programming, nearly 25,000 professionals have trusted CLEAR to gain valuable skills to progress their career and better serve the public.
The first public-facing NCIT program was held in Orlando, Florida, August 12-14, 1985 and had about 80 attendees that were made up of investigators, occupational and professional licensing enforcement staff, insurance, business and other regulatory caseworkers and compliance monitors. In order to apply for the National Certified Investigator designation, participants had to possess at least a year of experience, attend the in-person program, which included 21 hours of instruction (held across three days) and then successfully pass their exam. These certifying requirements are the same ones CLEAR instills in its NCIT Basic program to this day! While the NCIT designation and its acclaim within our international regulatory community has not changed much over the past decades, the program's scope and learning objectives continue to evolve alongside the ever-changing investigative landscape. Since the program's inception, CLEAR has expanded its NCIT offerings from just the NCIT Basic program to include our current catalog of NCIT Basic- Canadian program, NCIT Specialized program, and four topic-specific and seminar-style NCIT Third-Tier programs. While most of these training programs are now offered virtually in order to accommodate attendees' busy schedules, CLEAR still offers in-person training every year, with our next in-person offerings taking place this May in Austin, Texas.
