BC: call for regulation of child welfare workers

The British Columbia Representative for Children and Youth has issued a report reiterating issues with of understaffing and lack of supports for child welfare social workers. The report also recommends professional regulation of professionals in the child welfare field, such as social workers, child and youth care professionals, and clinical psychologists, in order to establish professional standards and professional development opportunities and increase public confidence in the professions.
