Nigeria: sign language interpreters call for regulation

The Educational Sign Language Interpreters Association of Nigeria has issued a call for the government to consider regulation of sign language interpreters. The Association notes the lack of a system to determine sign language interpreters' qualifications, as well as the lack of a formal educational programme. The Association stressed the need for qualified interpreters for a balanced and equitable society.
